Dear Friends and Family,
We returned to Discovery Bay today from a week of service to Faith Harvest Helpers in Olympia. While there, they allowed us to pioneer a prayer ministry for the people coming through their food bank in the neighboring city of Lacey. We are grateful for the opportunities God gave us to pray for many needs as well as spend time talking with individuals. Please pray for a teen we shared with extensively. She really struggles with identity issues, feeling rejected and abandoned by her mother who, addicted to drugs, left when she was 3 years old. We were able to share the forgiveness, healing and love Jesus can bring when we give our lives to Him. After we prayed for her, she lifted her head and thanked us. It was truly a blessed time sharing the love of Jesus.

Faith Harvest was the last base we volunteered at before going to Kona for our Discipleship Training (DTS) so coming back brought memories of anticipation we were feeling. It was an honor to see everyone as well as meet some new workers – all who share the same heart for ministry. I was able to help with construction and cleanup while April and Steve (a fellow staffer from Discovery Bay), organized the main building for future volunteers as well as providing lunch and dinner for all of us. Their challenges with excessive County bureaucracy continues, but their perseverance and unwavering commitment to the vision God has given them is an encouragement to us. They are praying the base will be up and running in the next year processing salmon for the homeless, missionaries abroad and for DTS students to take on Outreach.
While in Olympia, we took a Saturday side trip to Puyallup Washington to work at YWAM's New Beginnings Homes where women in crisis-pregnancies and afterward can find housing and hope in Jesus. It was a blessing to see the incredible ministry God has built and sustained.
This coming Monday is the start of the “Treasure Camp” we have been planning for the last 2 months. We expect 30-40 kids and have prepared some exciting activities, lessons and breakout sessions. One special craft will be customizing treasure boxes that were made by our staff. The theme of the camp is to show the kids that they are God’s treasure, and their identity can be found in Him. Please pray with us that it will be a blessed week of changed lives.
We are so proud of E’Lon and her growth as she is in Discipleship Training School (DTS) in Perth, Australia. It is a joy to hear her tell us of what she is learning, reading in the Bible, evangelism, and outreach plans. E'Lon just found out that she will be going to Paris and Munich with 11 others on her team. She is especially excited to work with refugees. Many heartfelt thanks to those who responded by partnering with her and giving towards her training.
Clarissa is hoping to be accepted in Mercy Multiplied, a 6-month Christian ministry. Please pray with us that this will work out.
Our video tract cards arrived with a working QR code and we have been handing them out as well as leaving them for people to find. So far, it appears we have had 66 visits to the videos we focus on. There is no web promotion, so most traffic is likely coming from the local card scans. An unintended benefit of the cards is that someone can scan one and leave it in place for the next person. If you would like to be a part of this and order some cards to give out, please contact us. To see the videos, visit TheInnDoor.com.
We ask that you share the above video and continue to pray for our upcoming Discipleship Training School in September. Students have been added but we need more to have the costs to the base fully covered.
We cannot thank you enough for your continued interest in this ministry God has placed us in.
Shalom – May you have His peace,
Mark and April
As the Lord leads you to give, E'Lon is still in need of Outreach support and exchange fees.
